Hair extensions in frizzy hair

    Hi everyone,

I'm getting married in Mexico in June. I have really thick frizzy hair which I spend so long straightening. Unfortunately, while on holidays the humidity causes my hair to frizz shortly after going outside. I really want to wear my hair down for my wedding day but I'm afraid that it will start to frizz so would extensions help with this problem or would I end up with straight extensions and my own frizzy hair on top?

    Thanks in advance.

I have thick hair also, which can get frizzy if I dont invest in maintaining.

First thing I'd recommend is a really good haircut with someone who understands thick hair. This will take a lot of weight out of it which helps with overall condition.

Second, I'd really recommend using a hair oil regularly. It really reduces frizz and builds up condition.

Thirdly, try to grown your own hair as much as possible. Long fair has more weight, which pulls it down as reduces the frizz. Having said that, there's a certain maximum length that I won't let my hair past, as it will start to look dead

How about having a 12 week blowdry before you fly over? This would really help defrizz your hair. Organic ones are available as far as I know if you didn't want to have a chemically treated one.

Thanks for your replies. Gaga21 do you know of anywhere that's really good at doing the 12 week blow dry? My friend got it done abroad and it was amazing while another friend got it done in Dublin and it made no difference to her hair so I'd rather try somewhere reputable?

Would you consider a 12 week blowdry as an alternative? I've some friends in Sydney who all swear by it as the humidity there can be quite high. When I visited earlier in the year my hair was a disaster, but the girls living there all swore by the 12week blowdry to combat frizz and they looked great. I've never gotten it myself as my hair is fine in Ireland, but if I'd an important event or was due to spend a lot of time in a humid climate, I'd definitely do it.

Sorry, haven't had it done myself so can't recommend anywhere. But am sure most salons do it.

I have had a version of a 12 wk blowdry called QOD done. Its great to combat the frizz. I would sugget that before extensions.
