A lot more technology and more of a Big Brother style society we live in now compared to even 15 or 16 years ago. A young chap from around my way (friend of a friend in Dublin 15) went missing for a few weeks a little while ago and the outpouring of notices and appeals on Facebook and media was non stop. He did come home after a bit and it was discovered he was in Liverpool for the duration. I didn't ask why or anything but I'm sure he had his reasons. Very tough on his family and friends that he vanished but I'm sure they're thrilled to have him back.

I really hope that this young man comes home too. Mehdi, if you're reading this PLEASE just tell someone you're around. You dont have to say you're fine or pretend to be happy if you're not. It's ok not be ok. But let someone know.

OK, for one I was not aware that missing persons get posted in AH as it seems an odd place according to the charter. Secondly, isn't there a rule regarding not attacking the poster but the post itself?

Missing persons is a serious matter and I do hope it gets resolved in a good way.

Maybe the mods can create a specific forum for this subject matter.

Some people love complaining for the sake of complaining.

Hi guys. Got this news around about 1pm but it hadn't been released and we wanted to make sure everyone got the news in as personal a way as possible.

I just haven't been online for obvious reasons. Much appreciated to Kersplat for making this a sticky.

As I said in a pm to Kersplat earlier even though myself, his family and friends are heartbroken I can't help but have seen the goodness in people over the last couple of days. Whether they were friends who knew and loved him or strangers who stopped and made an effort to read posters it's all much appreciated by those who knew him.
