Need Mobile Broadband: Suggestions?

Just moved into a new place. Can't get much in the way of broadband from any provider. Were just outside bray, but it's a remote enough area. Everyone was saying 3Mb DSL was all they could do. Signed up with Vodafone thinking if have to learn to live with it. Plugged it in tonight and I'm getting 0.2Mb and 700ms ping. My mobile data is literally 100 times better than that. Still in the cooling off stage, so looking for other options. Thinking a 4G SIM card plan with a mobile hotspot would be the best option. I'm normally a heavy data user though, so I know I'll struggle with something like 40GB. Anyone know the largest/best option? Other suggestions?

Have you been on to Vodafone tech support yet?

No, but I'm not really sure what id say to them. I don't think there is a problem with the service, other than that's as good as it gets where I live. Might give them a call to confirm, buy not expecting them to be able to do anything.

Have you any near neighbours you could talk to? See what there's is like.

Def talk to tech support though, if only to completely rule out DSL

Yeah, going to ask the first I see. See a lot of eir WiFi networks, so curious what they're getting and if it's any better. Will give tech support a ring tomorrow.

In there meantime, any ideas for something that isn't hard wired?

This link is useful in helping to establish what your line is actually capable of getting:

Double check you haven't the DSL filter in backwards. Can show the above.

Three AYCE is where its at but a decent LTE router is an outlay of €100.

    Will have a look.

Things have also improved quite a bit. I only checked the speed the first night within about an hour of installing the router. Moved everything in the other day and it's much better now. Ping is down to about 35ms, and getting speeds close to 3Mb (at least some of the time).

Will probably end up keeping it as is.

    Thanks everyone for the help.
