For cars without A/C I found this setup to be the best solution:

    - Crack one or both of the rear windows 2-3cm
    - Air circulation set to outside
    - Fan set to medium
    - Blower on the windshield and feet (and/or top front - however that's called :P )

I hate seeing fogged up cars with all windows shut! It's humidity, people, and you've got to let it out :)

Chrisfix is good, I follow him on the tube.
I find that cleaning the glass inside really well and only wipe with microfibre towels work well for me.

I like his explanation of it. It does seems to work faster leaving the window open a bit, I always did this, but wondered why it worked.

I've an old car, as a 2nd car and water condensation is terrible in it. While the car is mechanically sound, its probably the fogging up that will force me to get rid of it.

Problem is finding another cheap car that doesn't have the same problem.

True. I was the only user of my previous car, and maintained it this way for longer than 2 years.

If you have a dehydrator at home, try running it in the car for a few hours (with all windows closed), repeat after a week or so, and you'll see a difference ;)
