    My inlaws are coming round for Xmas and are quite old and frail so I need an open fire going in one room and a stove in another..
    I'm thinking of getting some of these - https://www.aldi.ie/cosy-fire-4kg/p/062860006450800 from aldi.. would like to know if theyr'e any good though (heat wise)

    If you're looking for something that you can light and walk away from then they should do the job.
    I haven't used Aldi's but others I've seen seem to be alright.

    Some firelighters, sticks, these and some smokeless coal would be slightly cheaper and should give you a good fire that you can keep going.
    If you're handy enough at lighting a fire.
