I think you've covered all mine there.

I'd like to see DeGale-Ward. That one for me is intriguing

If I had to pick one it would be AJ-Wilder...

    Not seeing this at all

Gamboa-Loma at 130/135 would be super...

If it did happen it wouldn't go past 4. I'm a big fan of Terry but they're on different planets let alone levels.

GGG v Jacobs official for the Garden Saturday March 18. Possibility of Chocolatito on undercard.

Maybe not be on a par with GGG v Canelo but it is the next best legitimate middleweight bout.

Definitely going to this as Katie and Conlan will be fighting in same building night before!

I'd like to see it again with two conditions. Ward actually fights, and the officiating is fair.

With Quigley, Conlan, Frampton, Lee, Barnes and Taylor (I've probably missed a few) I really think 2017 will be a big year for Irish boxing.

Really interested to see where Quigleys team direct him next year. Really impressed with him.

For some reason, I'm a little bit worried about Mick Conlon in the pro ranks. I hope I'm wrong but I just wonder if his amateur pedigree transfers to the pro game.

MC is very much an unknown quantity. Put it this way, I don't see anything from his amateur style and pedigree that would lead me to believe with any real confidence that he makes a quality pro..could he? Of course. It's just that nothing stands out for me.

I think Conlan has almost everything you'd want in terms of skillset, toughess and desire but my big worry would be cuts.

He has suffered a few since the dumping of the headguards and his brother suffers them regularly also, so IMO it could very will become a problem.

Another one that's only after popping into my head:

    Lomachenko v Mikey Garcia

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,221 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

I'd love to see Mikey Garcia vs Linares, Linares has flaws but offensively he's outstanding and Garcia before he went missing for ages was one of the fighters i rated most.

Right up there with anything else I want to see Mikey Garcia back in regular action. He's one of my favourite fighters to watch but I wasn't awfully impressed with his first comeback fight, so hopefully he has one or two more fights to sharpen him up before he steps in with someone of substance.

Well we'll find out a lot more January 28th, Zlaticanin is no mug, i'm hoping we see Mikey back to his best and he really looks impressive. should be an exciting fight Zlaticanin has no reverse gear.

I missed that fixture. Zlaticanin is very tough. Harder to hit than first impressions would suggest and a hard hitter when he gets the range, but closing the distance ought to be a problem with the real top guys. It's definitely a fight that will show where Mikey is at.

Is Boxnation covering it, cos it's the sort of fight I'd wait up for?

BoxNation not showing Garcia fight. They have a card from California that night...

Sky have it. Frampton on as well.

I think Zlaticanin is perfect for Garcia tbh. Garcia always eats up come forward fighters. Great fight though.

Garcia right up there with my favourite boxers. Great to have him back. Hopefully beats Zlaticanin to set up a summer Linares fight. Another very good fight that.

In 2017 I'd also like to see Conor Benn actually fight somebody, which will probably result in him getting beaten.

In all fairness, he's a complete novice. Very little amateur experience. Without his father's name nobody would be batting an eyelid at him.

I don't see him going far, but he will be in exciting fights because he's wild, can be hit and can punch.

Conlans defence would be my great worry. Hes not too hard to hit in all fairness.

I think he will be very exciting to watch, his stamina will be fantastic as per usual, he will look to please the crowd.

For no real reason I just see Conlan as being a lad who will end up in some wars with guys who he should be beating at a canter if hes to progress to the top echelons of the sport.

I know he is, which is one of the reasons he annoys me. Talks as if he's a seasoned pro who's unified the division. Driving cars worth a fortune etc. He's also sponsored by Reebok as well, and some of his social media has become Conor Mac like. Minute things but really turned me off him.

I think he'll be sparked when he steps up.

He will also need to tidy up his punch delivery and his accuracy. Little wide with the shots. Swings more than flows. He will have to learn to really sit down on the shots to generate hurt and power. The tippy tappy shots only get you so far, and let's be honest, he's not sweet pea in terms of defence.

I assume he'll be campaigning at 126 lbs...
