Can you build in a free standing tumble dryer?

We need to replace our built in tumble dryer. Wondering if we can buy a free standing dryer, put it in the same place and just attach the door to the adjoining cupboard to close in front of the new dryer.

Integrated dryers are very hard to find and so expensive but I want it hidden behind a door.

    Thanks

Is the dryer vented or condenser type.
You may have a problem with depth, depending on the depth of your worktop.
Freestanding are mainly 600mm width and can vary in depth.
If its vented dryer, obviously you will need a vent-hole in the wall behind it.

They usually won't fit because they'll be too deep. That's why integrated dryers exist :)
