whats the best (easiest) way to remove flaky paint on metal?

Have an old metal 14 x 8 trailer here (used to be a silage trailer). In any case the sides have been painted once too many times and the paint is flaking all round it. The problem is if I just paint it again without doing something about the old paint, it will just keep flaking.

Now the trailer isn't worth much so don't want to spend much either like on sand blasting. Whats the best way to get the old paint off? I could give it 3000 psi of the power washer but that would probably end up only getting half the paint off with the other half left on?

3000 psi washer that you have will do just grand. Have you a turbo nozzle for it?

Alternatively a wire brush on the angle grinder

You could get a price for sand blasting. I got parts blasted before through work and the price wasn't that prohibitive.

Yeah, a powerful Powerwasher with a turbo nozzle will do the job in no time.
    Happy Powerwashing :)
