I plan to record a conversation tomorrow with a stranger who will be breaking a law. The law being broke need not be expanded on as I want him to tell me he can do what he wants and let that be evidence afterwards that law needs to be abided to.
So can I record this conversation and produce it to any authorities afterwards and be compliant with the law?
If it wouldn't be compliant I guess telling him before hand that I'm recording the conversation and let it be that.

Will it be recorded in public space or on private property?

Is the stranger going to confess to breaking a law already and give you specifics of such offence he/she has committed or will they say that they will / intend to break the law in the future?

The person will tell me that they can do what they want and expect me to be ignorant of the law.
