Apple Returns

Just out of interest I received my iPad couple weeks ago and yet it says it can be returned by 8 January 2017? Is it b ecause of the xmas period it has a longer than 14 days return for refund?

Usually they extend the return period around Christmas. I bought a watch band as a gift last week from my local Apple Store. I wasn't sure about the colour but they told me I could return it up to January 20 (Christmas goes on longer around here )
