Internal Door Hardware

Hi all. The handles (lever type) on doors in our current house make a lot of noise when used. Ultimately, they seem poor quality with three of them actually jamming internally and locking us in rooms over the last 12 months.
But I don't think I've ever used a door lever that doesn't squeak or groan at some point so I've been looking around for alternatives.

For new build I'm looking at a type of latch that uses magnets instead of the traditional spring mechanism.
They're supposedly almost silent if you are to believe the marketing.
I've ordered one to see what it looks like but can find no reviews of this sort of 'tech' anywhere.

I'm not going to name the product here, but has anyone ever used this type of door latch?

Can you share a link - I haven't come across those as I would be interested myself. I've only seen them in older style cabinets.
I think when it comes to handles and latches, it really boils down to cost. Expect to pay a lot more for something if you want it to last. Another option is to go for the springless handles which rely on the latch to provide the spring. As less moving parts in the handle it should last longer and it's easier to change the latch than trying to get a matching handle.

Its always a good idea to ask those who sell stuff whats the brand/type to buy.

If you google "ironmongery and accessories" you will find a company in Dublin 12 that do a lot of door hardware. I would ask them or a similar company about the problems you are having and the possible solutions.
