Jobpath Issue & New Employer

Hi, i'm currently in receipt of JSA, but have secured employment and will be starting soon, so naturally i'll be signing off. Very recently, I fell under the Jobpath scheme, so I attended and explained my situation, offered to show them proof of a job offer and that i'd signaled the same to the Department of Social Welfare.

They (Jobpath Company), refused to accept the evidence I had on the day, they made me go through the initial steps, and want me back in with a copy of my contract, payslip & a signed sheet from employer. I politely pointed out, i'd be signed off JSA at that point and am not receiving any other entitlements from Social Welfare, so why the need for all this, and whether the company would be in receipt of payments for the year, despite me getting the job before I was signed on to Jobpath.

I was told, that it was just policy and they wouldn't be benefiting in any manner.

I talked to one person in my local SW office, and they said not to sign anything, but they didn't seem too sure themselves and I have nothing in writing to that end. Contacted Citizen advice, they said you don't have to comply, but you could face repercussions (paraphrasing).

Anyone encountered a similar situation or have advice? I don't really like the idea of sharing such information with a private company, nor the idea that they could be paid by the Government for a year. Currently I am still receiving JSA, as I've not started the job yet, so as I understand it, I do have to an obligation to attend Jobpath meetings, or they can report me as not complying. The person I talked to in Social Welfare said much the same, that I had to attend any meetings/obligations.

If you are about to start a new job I would tell them that there is no point in attending and leave it at that. Their whole purpose is to get you in a position to get a job and you have already done it without them. They are probably looking for those details from you to claim the credit and boost their metrics.

That was my thinking, whilst I understand paper work can have some funny rules, I can't see why they would need a copy of my contract and payslip, as I'll be signed off JSA. I told them much the same and as I said, they claimed it was not for their benefit, but didn't provide a good reason to why I should supply that information, bar that I'm still in receipt of social welfare until my start date in work and until that time, I have to follow what they say.

So for example, the last meeting, they got me to fill out a survey and go through the motions, for the sake of it. I'm sure it is equally frustrating for the employee as we're both wasting our time.

It is for their benefit, financially. They get paid in instalments for any of their clients, such as yourself, who get and keep a job for a certain period of time. That's why they want to know the name of the company etc, so that they can keep tabs for, I think, 12 months, and claim payment from the state. Personally, if I found my own job, as you have, I'd just go through the motions with them until I started the new job, and then I'd sign off and refuse all contact with the JobPath company.

Hi guys I am just a bit concerned. A couple of weeks ago I was invited for a Tus interview and I went to that and a few days later I went for an interview and got the job , Happy days so I think! Then I received a letter after I had accepted the Tus offer from Jobpath for this attend information session, I am not planning on going so I phoned DSP and well they said to some effect that it has nothing to do with them anymore as Seetac are a different programme or something but if i was signed to jobpath before tus i might have to take jobpath though I havent signed anything with Jobpath I then phoned Seetac and they said i should come in. i do not want my payments to be affected as I am not starting the Tus job till the 18th and I do not want to not go to the session and be cut off, but do not want too sign anything jeporadising my job..Any advice really appreciated, have the session on thursday!
