I'm in Software Engineering common entry. I did really poorly on my Christmas exam today. Is there any point continuing on with the second semester? Are there options for recourse?

Of course there is a point in continuing!

Don't give up, go speak to a lecturer when you get back after the Christmas break. There is plenty of help and support available for you if you feel you are struggling.
