Sex for money

I was just reading about a brothel that was closed down in Donegal.
According to the report 'customers travelled from all over the North West to the house' so that makes me think that either they were very good or there is a shortage of services being provided.

Has anyone visited a brothel or do you know of people who have?
I haven't been myself and have never been tempted but know a
few who have and based on what I've heard their stories wouldn't do much to change my mind.

A guy I used to be friends with attempted to lose his virginity with a girl from the escort website, but couldn't go through with it as he was actually surprised that she wasn't into it/him.

Know a few fellows who have, usually when abroad, on a stag etc.

Wouldn't be my cup of tea but wouldn't have any big objection to or issue with the idea of someone paying for sex, though the links to trafficking and the exploitation side would be an obvious concern to anyone.

    Couldn't do it.

Probably couldn't get it up either knowing full well the person next to me would rather be anywhere else.

More commonly known as marriage I believe....

I've never been and I almost certainly wouldn't be able to get it up.

The older I get the more important it is that the woman (i.e. my partner) is really into it. If I detect any kind of reluctance or disinterest then the whole thing is killed stone dead for me.

Giving a woman pleasure is the end game for me. I simply couldn't just pound away on someone to satisfy myself. I done enough of that when I was younger.

But who knows. Maybe if I was single, drunk and in a country where the women have some sort of autonomy or legal standing. I don't know.

    :D

Only 11am and post of the day there already!

I've never been myself but each to their own I say - however legalisation and regulation would be a good idea to protect both the girls and the clients.. but this being good Catholic Ireland (even now!) it'll never happen.

Jar of liver would be more fun than riding someone who is doing it for money.

You clearly haven't met a right professional yet.

We could tax the bejaysus out of it!

The opposite in fact, they are bringing in legislation to criminalise paying for sex which will only make it harder for sexworkers to be safe and independent of the criminals involved in sex trafficking.

I guess you mean _specifically_ visit a brothel as opposed to _any_ form of sex for money?

I am not sure I would to be honest. If I was going to go pay for sex I think I would prefer to do it with someone who gives off all the signs of being independent and not part of a brothel.

But to be honest I think I would have to know how the brothel works. Are they taking most of the money and only giving the girls a cut of it? Or are they merely taking a small cut for offering out the premises. How much is the cut? What are the girls getting for that money? Just the location? Security of some sort? Advertising and administration and more?

I am not against the idea of a brothel in other words - but I would want to know the girls working in one are somehow getting value for the money they pay up for the privilege. Otherwise I would prefer an independent girl who keeps all of what I pay her by working from her own location.

Not necessarily a brothel...any situation where you pay for sexual gratification with another person.

I don't care much for the clients myself but I wouldn't be so sure about the benefits of legalizing it. The workers tend to get tangled in a web of burdensome regulations and it won't remove the pimps from the equation; as has happened in Amsterdam.

This to still not legalised? Ffs!

Well then the simple answer is never done it - do not currently require it - but not closed to the idea of it should a time come when I do.

Actually most of the threads on this subject tend to bring in people commenting who have no experience of the sex trade - either as a buyer or a seller.

So I have on occasion considered purchasing sex from a few sources just for - you know - research purposes :) So I could at least have _some_ claim to know what I am talking about that many other commenters on such threads do not.

I quite clearly meant autonomy over their 'business' practices and legal protection/recognition as a sex worker. But don't let that prevent you from taking offence, snowflake.
