Swapping Toilet and Basin vs Installing Small Basin?

We have a toilet and sink in our main bathroom that are side-by-side but, imo, positioned in a way that makes for an inefficient use of the room layout.

The layout from left to right is: bath - basin - toilet with the three over-lapping due to their different heights and the basin currently blocking the installation of a shower screen on the bath.

How big a job is it to swap this to bath - toilet - basin? Were we to use this layout I think we could gain about 6 inches of usable space to the right negating the necessity for the current over-lapping and allowing me to put in a proper shower screen rather than having to use a shower curtain (something I really want to avoid!).

Would it be mad to even consider this? The sanitary ware is "Topravit" which I can't seem to find anywhere so my other option of getting a smaller (45cm or so) wash basin seems a bit of a non-runner (or I'd have to swap both basin and toilet in order to get a matching set).

Is this a job a novice could attempt? Any idea what ballpark I'd be paying for this in North County Dublin?

Look at corner toilets. This alone will free up a few inches

While a novice could attempt the new set up I couldn't see a novice being able to finish it. In your mind you see swapping three bathroom fittings. In reality this is probably closer to a complete bathroom refit

I'd either be swapping one bathroom fitting (in the case of putting in a smaller sink) or two (in the case of switching the toilet and basin).

As the toilet and basin are side by side, I'd have considered it a fairly minor job involving extending the pipe-work by 12 - 18" and ensuring there's enough of a drop per foot for the waste pipes to clear?

It's not as if I'd be re-orientating anything that'd require new pipework under the floor...

In the end I found a 45cm cloakroom basin that was similar enough to the rest of the suite in B&Q, I fitted it with a new waste and the taps from the existing basin.

Took the best part of a day to complete the swap including a couple of trips to a hardware store for tools I didn't have (tap wrench and a 12mm drillbit) but in the end it cost me less than €100 and I got to grow my toolkit further.

Handy enough job and got me some nice brownie points from Mrs Sleepy. :)
