Fears for jobs at beer company Brewbot as liabilities rack up

Not massively surprised tbh. The price has fluctuated massively and the actual BrewBot machine was far too expensive for the average person to want to buy. They seemed to be going after the corporate market and had a few big companies looking to put one in their HQ but aside from that I couldn't see where they were going to get the orders from. As a piece of homebrewing equipment it's very limiting and looks a bit of a balls to clean as well. Anyone who was serious about homebrewing could just build their own stainless steel set up (or buy a Braumeister) for much cheaper. They also didn't even bother having an Android version of their brewing app.

Aside from that, the bar was great but despite having a microbrewery in the building they rarely even sold their own beer. Few quid could have been clawed back there as well.

Brewbot's latest set of accounts, filed with Companies House in August and covering the 2015 calendar year, showed that the company's liabilities had almost tripled from £256,165 to £1,095,619.
"almost tripled" used there to mean "more than quadrupled".

If the worst happens I hope somebody keeps the bar running as-is. It's a huge asset to Belfast.

That i found that very odd, with two brewing system (brewbot and the 5 barrel system in the back) that they were not trying to brew more

The tap selection is getting closer to mainstream. It's mostly their own in-house brewed stuff (3 of 9), and seems to regularly feature fairly ordinary stuff from Irish micros.

Bar has been taken over by GBB.
