Any reason why not a good deal?

ON a budget. Back from a 3 week holiday

But that's an Argos own brand value model and 3 inches smaller as well as costing more!

I know 4K is great, but on a 40" it's not that big a deal to have.

I needed a big replacement TV cheap in a hurry last month. I bought the 55 inch version same from Argos and I'm delighted with it. Can't fault it. WiFi reception is great Netflix and YouTube are flawless on it and very happy with picture quality in HD.

It's a lot of telly for the money, if money is your main concern Tesco had a 43" Blaupunkt Smart TV for €279 last week

    Put a thread in requests.

A no name Argos brand TV will never be a bargain, no matter what cost.

You get what you pay for.

Is Hitachi an argos brand? I did not know that.

Op have a look at other threads here, better bargains can be found.

There may be better bargains to be had, but I wouldn't necessarily agree that 4k is the way to go. There is still a dearth of 4k content out there, and depending on the end user, 4k might never be something the viewer would watch

Since when has Hitachi been an argos own brand?

In about 2012 it looks like. This has become common both in the TV market, and with Argos themselves (Wharfedale electronics comes to mind, but I think that licensing agreement has since ended)

    Ridiculous comment.

Bush is an Argos own brand.
That said, the hitachi one is probably just a rebranded Vestel from Turkey anyway.

If you looked at either of the links it would be obvious that the TV that's 3 inches smaller and costing more isn't the cheaper, bigger one.

    Ridiculous person :)

is that aimed at me ??

the one that i linked to is 3 inches smaller, but it has 4k ..so the OP can future-proof himself for an extra 50 quid

not so ridiculous if you think of it that way :p

4k would need to around a while before I would buy one

    Reserved

Might be wrong, but I m not certain reserving it holds the price.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,888 ✭✭✭cletus

If you show the reserved price, they'll usually honour it.

Is this still available? Not in Tesco Castlebar / Claremorris or Swinford. And I had a quick look on Tesco website, but couldn't see a "stock finder" option.

Would like to get this today. I'm in Dublin, and will be travelling home the M4/N5 later.if anybody has seen this in Dublin on my route home.

    Thanks.
