Not bothered about spending over €1000 on a specialised gps ... have seen apps that you can get on the phone and then buy a seperate bluetooth gps to go on the roof of the tractor for under 4 or 500 euro just seeing has anyone went down this route ... want something for next spring to be that bit more efficient
    Couple of different apps
    Efarmer
    Agribus navi
    Machinery guide

Don't know much about any of them myself so would like a few opinions

use fields area measure here for mapping out fields in terms of acreage or for fencing. You can save the size of each field/paddock for later on but you can use it for spreading fertilizer or spraying

I'd be inclined to take a deep breath and go for the real deal MF.....By the time you've finished piecing things together you'd have the GPS bought....It will be in place for the long run and also for use by your relief man if you're away on holidays or whatever... (necessary part of farming)..
Our relief miller will keep up to the cows with fertility. ..All he has to do is drive at the 540 revs in a specific gear...and match up the green lines...
This machine will pay for itself in a very short time...

I use agribus navi very easy. Also bought an external GPS dongle qstarz cost about 70 for dongle. Program is free. Don't see much difference with dongle vs internal phone GPS. But does allow me to use a cheap tablet I have for tractor as it is a bitch using your phone and then you get a call on it. Plus it would eat the battery on phone. All in all it's a very nice program that is easy to use and plenty accurate for me to spread at 24m on grassland. Accurate to about 2m but in reality I reckon it would be better normally.
