banging noise after flush downstairs loo...only started this week

    Would be glad of any advice. We had our home renovated 3 years ago. The weak link was the plumber, the guy was absolutely rubbish and we have had issues with a few things since he left.

    Anyway latest thing, which may or may not be related to bad workmanship, starting a few days ago there is a loud banging noise after flushing the downstairs loo. As if the pipes are all rotating and banging off something. I assume it is sometime that has built up over time. Any pointers please?

    The rubber stop washer in the cistern ball cock has hardened and needs to be replaced
