As a non resident, beneficiary of an estate left in Ireland, how is inheritance tax levied exactly?

Irish Capital Acquisitions Tax is calculated on the market value of the assets received less costs incurred less a tax free threshold which is dependent on the legal relationship you had with disponer (individual who gave you the benefit) with the balance taxed @ 33%. Because you stated you are not Irish resident you may have a foreign tax liaility as well. Think you need to get professional advice!

Yep, also a spell checker for the title!
Not sure how to acquire the services of a tax lawyer? accountant? in Ireland from abroad. I'm a bit clueless.

Is there an Irish solicitor involved in dealing with the Estate? If so then they would normally advise or give you a referral to Irish tax advisor.
