I started a similar thread two years ago (sheesh, where does time go?), and I thought it might be good to do it again as there was some great ideas thrown around back then. So, what photography related gifts people are seeking this year?

I’m going for Guillaum Bily’s recent book “Wild Lights’. I saw one of his photos in the IWPOTY exhibition and it was sublime. He had feature in Outdoor Photography recently, stunning work

    http://www.guillaumebily.com/crbst_4.html

Michael Kenna’s updated and reprinted ‘Rouge’

    Valda Bailey’s mini book ‘Fragile’.

Gareth McCormack “The Mountains of Ireland’. I had never heard of this guy, but came across a mention online. Anyone have it? Worth getting?

Sebastiao Selgado ‘Salt of the Earth’ Bluray. I watched this in the summer and it is unbelievably good. If you like his work, and a smattering of politics/environmentalism, then you can’t beat this. Best photography related documentary I’ve ever seen.

Would love more suggestions, so please feel free to add your wants, needs, desires!

Total pipedream the Canon 5D IV

Might sell the 100-400 MKI to get the II ...

Another QXD card for the D500 and a Lowepro case for the 200-500 Nikkor would be the finest.

I changed my Camera this year and haven't used it. Disgraceful behaviour.

So.. what I need to do is get the bits for it that I used to have for my old camera, i.e. filters to fit the lens and wireless remote, a new bag because the camera and lens don't fit in my old one anymore. Those kinds of bits!

I'd also love a new tripod.. and a 16-35 2.8f lens. Oh and a few photography trips and workshops. :D

Are these desires, or do you have some very generous family/friends? :)

All my budget has gone on a lens repair. The perils of living in a humid area and fungus.

You don't need a budget at this time of the year. You just drop loads of hints :)

It may be Christmas soon but it's also my birthday. I was given a Canon F1 this morning with 35-70 f4 and 200mm f2.8. I needed to share that with people who would appreciate. It's all the gifts I could have wanted this year.
It's going to be a big change from a 1DX but I'm on the way to buy some film in Conns now.

I've been lusting after the new Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 VR lens (currently have a very old Nikon 35-70 f/2.8 I bought for €150 in a Bermingham's sale).

I have the non VR version of that lens in the Dragon Series. Very useful general purpose lens.

I'm replacing the original of the dragon series (35 - 70 f/2.8, released in 1987 and bought by me 2 years ago for €150) with this. A bit of a jump in price and a huge jump in weight and cost.

    It arrived yesterday :):):)

Oh it's all just a wish list! None of it urgent or in any way expected :) I'll see how generous my bank account is to me at the end of the shopping for everyone else!

Sounds like a great idea - I'm sure that there is a core of people who would be interested who don't post as much as they used to but are still about!

I got myself a D5500. Cheap enough body but damn that sensor!!

Bear in mind I've been using a Fuji S5 Pro forever. Sensor tech has really come a long way. I'm staggered at what can be pulled back from the raw files. The Fuji was class leading back in the day when it came to dynamic range but this little thing blows it out of the water. Badly exposed stuff that went straight to the recycle bin is now great to work with. Then there's the high ISO performance...
