It's just over 50 years since the world' s first popular electronic synthesiser, the Moog, was invented. From about 1970 onwards, the Moog and later makes of synthesiser revolutionised music, especially pop music. I'm a big fan of early synth bands like Kraftwerk who paved the way for electronic music and techno in later years.

Of course, the electric guitar, drums, the piano, Hammond organ remain critical instruments in rock and pop music but the synth has added to their appeal, not replaced it.

    All hail electronic music!:D
