    Hi folks,

I have a ram lamb who went down with something about 8 weeks ago. Was a tad cold / ears dropped down / eyes went blind / very poorly. I isolated him.

Phoned vet and said to give alamycin so I did. Animal recovered but ears seemed to rot off him. He is fairly lively when I go into the paddock. Apart from the ears he looks ok.

Any ideas what this would be - talked with local sheep man and he said he never seen it before! I want to get rid of him but how do you as he has no ears to tag!!!!

    Thanks

    No idea about the tagging...

But was it a white faced sheep? Isn't there a sun related thing they can get that causes the ears to swell and possible fall off?

EDIT : here, I found this

Saw that in a mart. The lamb had no ears for some reason.

A fox probably tried to bite them off. Have a neighbour that had that particular problem.
