Fired at Christmas

I am just wondering if anyone has ever been fired 2 weeks before Christmas. I left a really good secure job for a job that was basically full of empty promises (college and lesser hours than my previous job), I had no training on how things were to be done in this new place and excuses were pretty petty as to why I was being let go after a few days. Anyways question is how long will I have to wait to get social payment? I am owed money for work but I have a funny feeling this cracker jack is going to make things pretty difficult for me and it's Christmas and I can't afford to not have money with mortgage, bills etc to be paid. Any help or advice is really appreciated. Thanks in advance

Go to your local sw office tomorrow and apply, it does take a few weeks for approval but you can go to the cwo for a payment in the meantime.

If you have stamps from a previous tax year the payment will be almost immediately.

It is quite fast at the moment, I want down with my forms filled out and I got a letter in the post 6 days later saying that money will be at the post office for me the following day.

Sorry, other post was meant for x factor. Happened to me this time last year so know what it's like. I got payment in a few days though. Go into the office yourself, don't do anything by post.
