    he was very obliging and fortunately there was a Songthrush there as well, so it eliminated that possibility.

    This is Pondfields in Banteer Co Cork. Plentiful busy feeders in the trees and I'm pleased to report 2 Mute Swans present, after being missing for a few months. The resident pair had 7 Cygnets earlier in the year and I'm speculating these are two of them....both males as far as I can tell

    They are definitely not this years cygnets.

    Would they not have adult plumage by now? Can they fly with cygnet plumage?

    It takes 12 months to attain adult plumage. All birds can fly with juvenile plumage.
