Just a heads up, just received an email there that looked like something from Revenue, it had their logo and everything on the email.

The email address was "refundrevenue@irishtax.ie" but when I checked the properties it was really "sfox@skynet.be".

The text of the email read:

    Dear Applicant

After the last annual calaculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive tax refund 376.51 Euro
To access your tax refund, please download and fill the Tax Refund Form by clicking the link below.
Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 2-5 days in order to process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons. As example, for submitting invalid records or applying over the deadline.

    Sincerely
    Anthony Poole.
    Irish Revenue Credit Office

Note the spelling mistake on Calculations!!

Pretty endemic now. Also some robocall phone calls - which have an accent you can be sure that Revenue wouldn't use on a robocall even if they were nuts enough to do so.

Refunds are only ever offered after you make a request or submit a correction - they are never offered.

I get a few of these a week would have hoped everyone's well aware of them by now. I guess it's that hope of maybe just maybe that keeps them working.

I wonder how they'll pay; cheque or prepaid ATM cards.

Got an email today (8pm) roshelp@revenue.ie (I assume this is legit) they just asked to log into ROS and check "Your request history" There is nothing in there under "My Enquiries" Why would they be mailing me at 8pm asking me to check for a correspondence? What could that be?

No, there were no links, its similar to ones Ive received before, it literally said:
Revenue has sent you new correspondence.
If you are a ROS Business user please access your ROS Services to view this correspondence in your "Revenue Record".
If you are a PAYE anytime user, please access your PAYE anytime services to view this correspondence
    in "Your Request History".

Got it today as well.....it's your new tax certificate for 2017......you have to click into PAYE and it'll be under history request.

From memory there was no link in the email...it just said for me to go to the ROS website and log in.

I got an email from revenue today telling me there was a message waiting for me on ROS. Haven't checked it yet or anything, no link on the page. Never had an email from them before.

Just be careful guys about clicking links that request you log in, usually a fake webpage that tracks your log in details. If you ever get an email that says "please log in with this link" I always open a page manually. If in doubt, watch out.

Wow, this thread finally solved the mystery of emails from Revenue to my private email address as described in post #7 above. On receipt of an email from Revenue, I used to log into ROS, select tab "Revenue Record" as instructed in the email and then "Inbox Messages". There was very rarely any emails to be found. Today I followed Decoda's advice; login to ROS, remain on tab "MyServices", on the bottom right of tab select "PAYE Services", then select "MyDocuments". And there was 5 years of unread emails!

Is it just me or does ROS make just about everything as painful as possible ?
