I have a 4 rail fence surrounding house site.
Would like to get a galvanized wire fence, with narrower guage then sheep wire to keep pets within.
I am having trouble sourcing it - perhaps 7.5 cm galvanized wire.
I need a good quantity, perhaps 300 metres

    Thank you Calahonda52

Yup thats the material ideally I'd like price depending. Does not neccessarily have to be narrower towards the bottom.
    Know of any Irish supplier?

Google, Tornado horse wire , it will give you the wire type and suppliers in Ireland, most Agri stores will sell it

Have you considered those electric shock collars?

No thank you to electric shock collars. I wouldn't wear it myself :)

What breed of dog? If it's a strong dog you may have to go with chainlink wire which is widely available.
Unfortunately, at 300m, there's no cheap fix.
Fair play to you on the shock collars. A guaranteed way to make a dog cross. Cruelty is not the way to go.

Retrievers. They wouldn't have much interest in jumping it or digging under - bit lazy that way.
I may have to go with sheep wire at the side and back fence. And something a bit nicer on the eye along the road side.

Retrievers are more mischievous clowns than anything else. I have kept them safe with 5 ft sheepwire in the past.
However, I had to run a single strand of bullwire around the top to secure the sheepwire as they had a habit of standing up straight against it causing it to sag.
