The engine in my 2008 S40 1.3D engine is not repairable. (Also the ECU is knackered).

Anyone else ever replace both before? What's the cost?

Only other option is can think of is to sell it as is and get whats worth for it, and I've no clue what that'd be.

    1.3d? Is it the 1.6D?

If it is the 1.6D, a second hand engine supplied and fitted could cost around €2k. A second hand ECU plus programming could cost around €500.

    What mileage is on it?

€2k yeah? Well with 200Km on it & the ECU gone also, it may be time to scrap it. I bought it Jan 2012 for €9K

With that mileage it's probably worth €1k. So it cost you €8k over 5 years, or just €1.6k/yr depreciation. Not bad.

Throw it on Donedeal and hope for the best.
