    Hi all,

Have a 1.4 golf, 2004 and was looking at the engine the other day and down by the starter I noticed a place where I think a cap should be, the hole has threads and you can see into the engine, but never had a problem with the car, pic below:

    Any ideas ?

Looks like the inspection hole on the gearbox, it's used to check a timing mark on the flywheel.
You should be able to get a cap from a scrap yard or if not a motor factors.
