Teeth whitening

Two questions: a) have you got it done and is worth it? and b) what are we talking in terms of cost? I ask because I'd quite like to give myself an early Christmas present and what better way to give the nashers a bit of an ol' wash?

My teeth aren't exceptionally bad, but they could be a little better. That said, I don't want it to be obvious that I've 'hard work done'. I don't want two rows of teeth whiter than Peruvian cocaine - just something that says, to the opposite sex perhaps, 'he brushes, but he hasn't had them done'.

One site charges €195 but it's unclear to me if that's just a consultation or if it's a one-off payement type of thing. Who knows, but advice is welcome.

    Thank you.

Also, I will not tolerate somebody telling me to YouTube it. I've done this and although it might be free, and effective, you need to, like, brush your teeth with bleach and baking soda or something every day until 2019 before you start seeing results.

You can get strips or toothpaste. No dentist will make them too bright, some are reasonably priced. I got mine done by a dentist and they just looked white not overly done.

I got the mould done to fit around the teeth and the stuff to apply for 100 I think but that was only for the upper teeth. They have to judge your colour first to see how long you should keep using it for. It takes time for the teeth to whiten.

Yeah I'd definitely get it done at a dentist. They can do it in office or make you trays that you wear at night for a few weeks with the whitening solution in it.

Lazor is around €300-€400. Supposedly the best but very uncomfortable.

Another one which takes a lot longer(like about four extra visits) cost about €250.

Didn't go ahead with it but I got prices last year.

€250 per session or for all four?

Mix in some baking powder with your toothpaste for a few weeks.

I've had laser done twice. It was uncomfortable and I had shooting pains for 24h afterwards. The whiteness was lovely but only lasted a day or two.
I've used colgate strips as well, they were good.

More than anything else though I'd recommend a cleaning from a dentist and this toothpaste - "white glo".

I've had mine lazered, and I've trays I use for an hour every month or so to top up. It's worked well for me, but my teeth weren't very discolored to begin with. I don't know how much it cost, my dentist sis-in-law does all my dental work.

That's exactly what I was going to say get a simple teeth cleaning they will essentially give em a sanding as I call it and a polishing they will be 95% white just after than and then use a good toothpaste to keep em nice otherwise your gonna look like Marty Morrissey with his bleached teeth

Uoo - one of my old flatmates did this - used the moulds & gel - had nice white teeth but was in agony with tooth sensitivity. I'd be afraid of that. I get my dentist to clean mine & they always come up nice - of course ten expressos later & I wonder why I bothered - atleast I havn't stripped a layer of enamel off my teeth for temporary cosmetic gain! Icecreaam/hot drink anyone!?

Teeth are not supposed to be snow white. They come in many different shades grey, light yellow even red. This new teeth whitening craze is very bad for your teeth and can do serious damage.

Blanx toothpaste delivers just as good a result as the harsh bleach some dentist use that they get you to put in those trays, for a lot less pain and hassle.

Haven't had lazer treatment, so can't comment on that.

I can tell you now if you're teeth are red it's time to see the dentist as you've got severe gingivitis and will probably die.
