New Virgin Media Hub - Switchover

My Virgin media hub is being upgraded to the newer hardware. The new hub is coming via courier tomorrow but I need to be on online meetings at various points throughout the day and not sure what time the hub will arrive.

Is there a hard cut-over when the new hub is delivered where my existing one will stop working? Or is there a few hours overlap? Ideally I'd get my day's work done on the old hub and switch-over afterwards in the evening without risk of being unable to work.

    Any info welcome

I was away when mine was delivered. Changed the delivery date online from Tuesday to Thursday as I knew I would be away. New hub got delivered on Tuesday anyway and Internet was switched off that day and kids had no wifi until I returned on Wednesday night. So they will turn it off at some stage tomorrow. I suspect it will be when the courier logs that he has delivered. If you change the date ring the courier to confirm!

Assuming the new hub would be provisioned as soon as it's deposited in parcel motel though? Which would leave me with the same problem.

Mine didn't provision till I plugged the new one on AFAIK.

This was horizon to horizon & modem.

IIRC (and it may be dated info) but each customer profile has two "slots" on their CMTS for device registration. When a new device is provisioned it overwrites one slot so depending on the luck of the draw they can work interchangeably or kill the old one.
