We own a semi detached house, beautiful home and area

We have finished flooring upstiars, when we are downstairs in the sitting room we can hear them moving about in the house next door upstiars

the joists seem to carry the vibrations, house is buit within the last 5 years

Is there anyway of securing the joists so that the noise doesn't carry through?

Would spray foam in between be a fix?

You need to tell us a lot more about the type of house construction as well as what you mean by finished floor upstairs?

The foam idea is a waste of time as it is not dense enough and is not air tight.

Research the physics of sound transmission : there is plenty on this site
