Clutch judder when taking off in first gear

I have a 2015 Kia Sportage 1.7D and I have only noticed this issue in the last couple of months.

The problem is most noticeable in the morning when the car is cold on a hill start in first gear. Don't think this is due to my driving style as the problem has only become apparent in last couple of months.

Has anyone else had this problem? Just checking before going to the main dealer to get it checked out.

Had the same issue with my c max.
Would judder in first or in reverse gear.
Eventually the clutch and flywheel went totally.

    DMF failing?

Sounds very like when our DMF failed.

What's the mileage?...sounds like your DMF.

Thanks for the feedback, I was hoping someone would say 'don't worry lad, sure it just a bit of dampness in the morning' but sounds like I need to book it in to the dealer. At least its still under warranty.

The car has about 66,000 km on it at the moment. Last year I was doing almost 1000 km per week but now doing less than 200 km per week as I got work closer to home. Short journeys wouldn't contribute to the problem?

Could be fluid leaking onto the clutch too. That would be fully covered. straight forward wear on the clutch might not be however at that small mileage dmf shouldn't be giving trouble.

Will warranty cover a DMF? Is it not a wearable part/consumable?

I'll have to check the small print on the warranty. I would think premature wear on the DMF should be covered.

    Our DMF went after 100,000km.
A lot of that was stop, start city driving.
Also I had a habit of driving and changing low down in the revs which the mechanic said put more strain on the DMF than changing higher up the revs.

Flywheel wouldn't be regarded as consumable the way a clutch would. The only reason they wouldn't replace it under warranty would be if they found signs of abuse when stripped. I wouldn't worry about it.

that should have solid flywheel from factory
either way box with have to come off
    prob pressure plate fault

I don't think the 1.7 have a DMF, think a Solid flywheel with a standard 3pce clutch. Not in work but will check tomorrow if I think of it.

    Could be an engine mount.
Have a look at mountings on gearbox side.

Just checked, no DMF listed for those....
