I have been offered a contract in Switzerland and have to accept/decline it by Friday and also negotiate a day rate.

Permanent relocation isn't an option as I have young kids at school in Dublin. I need to get some sort of an idea about accommodation costs in the Basel area and the tax situation for guest workers. Can you expense any living costs (unlike here) etc. and what percentage of Salary goes in direct taxation. If I took it I'd probably fly Monday/Friday and only stay 4 nights. If I'm taxed heavily & paying huge accommodation costs it's not economic to do. Any pointers gratefully accepted.
