Cheap car parking city centre?

Going up for a look around the shops on Saturday, where's the best/cheapest place to park around city centre? And will I need to get there early to get a parking spot ?

Ilac is one of the cheapest though a lot of them are doing a day for a fixed price..avoid stephens green.

Was just googling city centre parking and the Irish Life car park on Abbey Street is €8 for Saturday.I can pre book it so I presume that will hold a spot for me?
