    Hi,
I recently was awarded job seekers benefit. I got the letter and it said my first sign on date is in February? It also says that on the post office receipts.
I thought it was every month so I'm unsure if this is wrong.
I have tried to call but no one is answering..
    Thanks

Probably due to the Christmas holidays. You'll also get a text message a day or so before each signing, so I wouldn't worry too much. :)

You dont have to sign on every month now. Your date will be written on the bottom of your receipt. I've never gotten a text the day before. The sign on dates are random. If they cancel the date they will send you a letter

Ok that's grand, I eventually got through and they confirmed the above anyway. Was just surprised as it was my first one and expected it to be every month. Thank you! :)

Hi I am starting a new job Monday I only got notification of yesterday morning. I signed off last night as per. Now I will be owed back payment for this week How do I receive it.

As usual no one's answering the calls in the intreo office. (Irony of under staffed in an employment office)

Can anyone tell me how I recover said payment as I obviously can't get to the post office next week

    .

Really?? How is that possible?!? Not been around these parts in a while so I forget everything. Is that new?!? I can see how it would crack down on people being out of the country and people who are working who aren't on an Employers books, - they mightn't be able to click their fingers to go in and sign on if they're out on a job! But I'm just wondering about people at home with young children or people who live a fair distance from their sign-off Office or those without cars... How would D.S.P. establish this or get it set up ...

Don't know how it's possible but yes was told they are random now instead of every month. If you do forget to sign on they will allow you to sign late

JSA signing around my way is every 4 weeks; nothing random about it. They send a text message the day before if they have your number. Don't know if it's different for JSB?

    Depend's on the OP's age. Over 60 it's twice a year and over 62 it's annually,
