    Hi all,

I have a neighbour that has a 3 bay double lying idle as the lad who used to rent it put up a shed.

I want to rent it off him from early january until march 10th so 8 weeks really.

I am planning on bedding it with straw and putting ewes in it, and obviously cleaning it out and leaving it as i got it at the start.

I havent approached him yet but i was wondering what ye think would be a fair price for the use of the shed.

The shed is away from his house and home yard so i wouldnt be disturbing or intruding on his own yard.

    Tia

Other people said i would need to offer him at least 500 a bay which is 3000 but that would be mental money.

I just need it to avoid feeding sheep out of ring feeders and mucky troughs as my parents usually feed them in the run up to lambing but are not fit for it this year.

I rented out a shed on an outside farm similar to that before(housed 28 cows) but for the whole winter , the deal was 1000 upfront cash plus he emptied and spread the slurry on my fields in Summer. When complete I was to return 200 cash to him. Deal went well as it turns out , so I`m renting out the whole farm to him now. Those dairy boys have loads of money :)

SO realistically if i gave him 500 and left the shed as I got it he wouldn't be doing too bad, I dont want to come across as mean to him but i am trying to make money too

Bit like daft, if no demand and someone offers you 500 quid its better than getting noting. If he thinks he could rent it for more he will just say no and rent it to someone else. Whats it worth to you to use it to make a profit would be what I'd offer, no insults in business!
