Avensis slow to start

    i have a 2010 avensis diesel recently ive noticed it slow to start but once its started its fine for the day its just the first time you start in the mornings its sluggish ive checked the battery and its fine could anyone tell me if its anything
    else please

    How did you check the battery? Because it sounds like the battery.

    if it is starting ok after the initial start up I would suspect you have a heater plug or two that's faulty

    If there was a heater plug gone it would put on the engine management light.

    Sounds like battery.

    Did you get it tested in a garage or motor factors?

    The easiest way to check a battery is to swap over a battery from another car and try starting using that instead. Takes 5 mins

    Get the starter checked, they love to go lazy on the D4D's

    Modern diesels (after circa 2002) dont need heater plugs to start from cold, many do not even have them fitted :) we need to dispell this myth
