Can anyone advise me on a bottle of wine for the OH's parents' for Christmas?

Something around the €30 mark perhaps?

Agreed on the sparkly stuff, nothing like a bit of fizz to kick it off. €36.95.

Unless you have a specific recommendation that doesn't really mean anything. It's a region producing thousands of wines, plenty of them are crap just like plenty of crap comes out of Bordeaux.

What part of the country are you in? Your best bet is to find a decent wine shop and ask for a recommendation in your budget.

They have a store in Citywest, see the link for maybe a more suitable location.

Above all relax it's a nice gesture for the festive season. An established wine merchant won't sell you bad stuff for €30.
The in-laws will appreciate the thought. Don't forget though that you will have to repeat your generosity for many years to come!

Go to lidl and pay €24.99 for a bottle of Bissinger Rose Champagne, it's a magnificent find and a steal at that price. You won't go wrong. And as you haven't said whether you require red or white this will fit the palate perfectly.
