Have days to take & looking to get a round in around the greater Dublin area next week.Any recommendations/courses in good nick for this time of the year?Usually play Margaret's/Castle knock/Luttrelstown anyone played these recently?Worried about landing somewhere with winter greens in play

Balbriggan is in very good condition at the moment. They are also running a winter green fee special €20 to include Soup/Sambo after you're finished.

The closer to the sea the better. Luttlerstown had frost delays last week but no temporary greens.

If you're around that area I would recommend Roganstown. As far as parkland courses go in NCD it is the safest bet as it drains very well and plays full tees and green all year round. Often open when other nearby courses have closed.

Played luttrellstown yesterday. Course in great condition.

To be fair the winter we've had so far has been very mild so courses should still be holding up relatively well. I find January & February the worst months for play and normally take 5-6 weeks off around then.

Roganstown is known as a well drained course, must have spent a load during the construction stage. Castleknock drains well too. On the other side Holystown & Elmgreen are shocking wet.

Not a fan of Elmgreen at any time of the year tbh. Knightsbrook & Headfort are two other courses that hold up fairly well in Winter.

Yeah me too. First out at 8:30. Didn't see a sinner until the back 9.

    Course in great nick.

Shame really as I needed an excuse for my poor play

Played Roganstown on Friday 30th. Course was in lovely condition with no wet or swampy spots. Greens in good nick too.

Ground is a bit sticky and you'd need the lift clean and place alright.

Really nice day for golf too with no wind or rain and quite warm.
