So..internal heating fan not coming on.Can i test it by running two wires direct from the battery?have a grey/white wire and a grey/green wire running to the fan.don't know which is positive and which is negative.
Have had a bit of work done on the car recently,so thinking something might have been dislodged in the prosesss.new head gasket and new radiator(thanks steve).

    What car - year/model?
Does fan come on at any speed (1, 2, 3, 4) as if it works on high speed only it can be the resistor.

Was it not working when you got it back from the head gasket job? Likely they've missed something, get it back to them.

Before doing anything drastic like chopping into the loom have you checked the fuse? Have you checked all connections are firmly seated? Have you checked the operating switch? Does it feel the same as before?

Those wires should have a block connector on them, do they?

The block connector near the fan (Passenger wheel well) is known to have bad connectors that degrade to the point that the fan stops working. Bypass the connector to troubleshoot. It's a good chance that it is this. I have seen it on 2 puntos.
