Limestone Reveals

    Hi Lads

We are working on a new build & getting to the exterior stone cladding, outside is plastered & 200mm stone arrived Friday
The issue we have is there is only 95 mm from the plastered reveal to the glass
We had intended on using the 200mm stone on the walls & using the 25mm thinstone on the reveals in a jagged tooth format, leaving 70mm window frame exposed, but looking at it with mason it won’t look right

The other options would be to paint the plastered reveal or run the thinstone vertically up the reveals?

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Heya,
I can show you what I did. I'm not 100% sure what 'reveal' means though. I thought it used to refer to what's pointed out here i.e. a raised frame formed on the house wall around the outside of your window. So for example this house in the pic has reveals, but I don't have them on my house. So reveals are a plaster decoration you can choose to have or not have.

But then sometimes I'm not sure does it mean something else?

NOTE: this is NOT my house

Anyway regarding natural stone front gable and what to do around windows this is how the stone mason handled mine (plasterer had to come back after stone mason was finished and plaster the bit right next to the window frame)
