I totally cheesed of with AddressPal at the moment (slow, unreliable, poor support etc).

I needed a specialised item before Xmas so I decided to give Parcel Wizard a try
then ..... No postage to Northern Ireland!

BUT I noticed that Click & Collect to Northern Ireland was available.

Jonesboro is the nearest point, but I chose Argos beside Sainsburys in Newry
so I could do a bit of shopping and recoup the petrol money (and more!).

There is no fee - It's open till 9pm and you have 7 days to collect.
    =======================================================
I wasn't going to go North this year, but thanks to AnPost,
I'll be spending a couple of hundred outside the state this year.

I'm confused  Are you saying we should buy in Argos Newry?
How would they provide another delivery option from the UK?
Why are An Post the reason you are choosing to spend a couple of hundred outside the state? If it's because you are cheesed off with Address Pal that makes no sense, as if you were using Address Pal, well then aren't you spending all your money outside the state anyway!

Eirman you do realize not all board users live in your location, right ?

Please change your thread title, I clicked on it thinking it was a valid option for most, not an obvious tip for people who live close to the North. AddressPal working very smoothly for me here in co Waterford

From my reading of it I think it's for Argos only? Kinda stupid really!

I'm guessing the point is that you can buy from Argos UK and have it sent to NI as a click and collect item. Problem is you still have to go to NI to collect it. :pac:

yea and restricted to buying from Argos.... so not really as the OP suggests, "Another Delivery Option from the UK" to compete against Address Pal etc!

There are other retailers that do equivalents - but you need to live fairly close by and be tolerant of Newry's horrendous traffic if its a Newry store.

If you are buying on Ebay UK you can frequently choose "Click and collect" as a delivery option.

In my case, the seller would only post to mainland UK but Click and Collect was available to Northern Ireland.
I chose Newry and a convenient collection point.

    It's genuinely another option.

Post to mainland UK only - Northern is excluded

    BUT
Click and Collect to NI is an option

So are you saying this is the option?
    https://www.collectplus.co.uk/our-services
if so, why didn't you mention it at the start? are we supposed to be psychic?
In all fairness you haven't been very clear in your post, so perhaps you should explain how it works.
I'm looking at your ebay link and I have no idea how to use your "click & Collect"

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but you need to inform us because so far, you haven't made any sense really.

With click and collect you just choose an Argos store to collect the item from. The item in the link from the OP doesn't ship to NI but you can choose a NI Argos store to collect it from.

The title is now inaccurate. It should really be ....
Click and collect from Northern Ireland

If you live in Donegal you can collect from a rake of shops in Derry
    https://www.collectplus.co.uk/store-locator/derry
Note that none of them is an Argos

If you live in Dundalk, Costcutter in Jonesborough is the nearest pickup point.

With this service, you can collect from Spar, Mace, Costcutters, Newsagents, Mini-Marts, as well as Argos

well at least now you are starting to explain the process a bit. In fairness, you should have explained it all in your first post

where can you buy from or is it restricted to ebay purchases?
how about amazon, htc, screwfix, small independents?
I still cant figure out how to buy your ebay item above to collect it though

Make sure UK is your chosen country. You will see that Northern Ireland (and thus Parcel Wizard) is excluded in the POST TO ME option

Above that in the Click & Collect option you will see various locations suggested around your AddressPal address AL40JY.
Type in Newry, or Derry (in place of AL40JY) for N.I. pickup points.
    =====================================================
Amazon don't use Click & Collect
but they do use four similar services

Screwfix have a shop in Newry

ok, so it's down to the seller to use this service as opposed to us the buyer being able to opt for it.

so it is not really an option unless you are using very specific retailers

"so it is not really an option unless you are using very specific retailers"

It a common option - If you use eBay.co.uk

Prime contender for the most useless and self serving thread of the year.

"uk shop offers uk click and collect to one of their uk branches"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,022 ✭✭✭eirman

I can't imagine how this thread could be called "Self-Serving".
    It's another real option.

I used it for a second time this week - it's really fast (& Free) !!!
    Purchased on 12/12/16
Arrived for collection on 14/12/16 (11.12 am)

Note the different icon on the eBay screenshot.
