Attic roof insulation

    Hi

    After putting in lights, stira, flooring

    I'm now thinking of putting roof insulation between rafters.

    Looking online it's a huge choice of rafterlock and various kingspan kXZ

    There's loads of choice but I'm sure there's one best solution.

    Planning to use for storage but want to increase the overall house insulation.

    By the way is there SEAI grant possible?

    I see they offer €300 but is it difficult to qualify?

    From what I have read the xtratherm rafterloc seems very good

    I need it in 60cm widths

    Does anyone have any idea how much it costs or where to buy it?

    I have another question

    I have 100mm rafters

    And I see this rafterloc starts at 75mm thick

    Would that not leave enough of a gap?

    How do I know if I even need air circulation?

    Insulation between the rafters not worth a **** if its just for storage. Pull up the flooring, stick tge new insulaion (earthwool maybe) perpendicular to the insulation in the joists. Use those things that raise the level of the floor, no idea what they're called. They elevate the floor level by screwing the to the joists. Put your floor back down. No point insulating any higher as you want to stop the heat getting into the attic.
    I only know this from reading all the threads on here some elements might be a little wrong. And don't cover the eves with the insulation.
