Tossing the coin over the CLA petrol or diesel. Looking at 200petrol or 220d. The 220d has better performance and economy but what about resale and overall enjoyment of the car itself.

Does your mileage or daily driving style warrant a diesel?

Hi bazz26, i'd drive up and down the country a fair bit with work. But I can use company vehicle or get mileage on my own car. So Im half way on the answer.

Well if you're not doing a lot of city or constant stop/start driving then the diesel would be fine and probably would retain it's value a bit better but petrol cars are starting to make a comeback so there might not be premium paid for diesels long term.

Good point on the petrol to be fair! The diesel offering is more powerful and thats why I was leaning towards it. My other concern is that I've heard the diesel CLA described as "agricultural", loud and noisy. I haven't had a proper test in one to get to know it. Around the block didn't tell me much. Im coming off a 2L petrol passat so its a whole different drive.
