There was to be collection of hazardous waste on 19th Nov. Old paint, varnishes, pesticides etc... was scheduled for 4 hours with a proviso that it might finish earlier depending on volume received. It closed after just 2 hours-Full up! A line of people turned away. When will the next collection be - 'sorry mate-dunno' was the stock answer. Website is still advising of the 19th Nov collection- 2 weeks after it finished!
    Anyone else with same problem?
What do people do with this stuff in the absense of local councils not providing a proper service?

This really is a problem in this country, we really do need a proper plan for disposing of hazardous waste. Was told by an environmental scientist at trinity a couple of years ago that if somebody came up with a real way of dealing with hazardous waste in this country, they'd be very rich indeed. No wonder this stuff gets dumped all over the place, illegally. Apologies but I've no advice
