Cold tap flow slows down when first turned on

    Hi,

A few months back our kitchen mixer tap needed a bit of TLC, as the tap handles/knobs were worn would just spin around without catching the spindles and opening/closing the tap. I got a pair of replacement spindles from Irish International Trading here in Cork (so I'd assume the parts are decent quality) and fitted them without any issues.

Anyway, the issue is, when we turn on the cold tap (around 1 turn of the knob) first we get a normal flow and then, after a couple of seconds (if you don't turn the knob any further), it slows to a trickle, or at least is greatly reduced. But if you open the tap further you get a good strong flow without any problem.

I turned off the mains, took off the knob and removed the spindle, took it apart and cleaned it and all looked normal. I reassembled it, turned on the mains and the tap and the issue remains. Is there something obvious that I'm missing? It's not a major issue, but if I can crack it I'd be happy enough too.

    Cheers
