Streaming issues with VF HG658c

I've got a Vodafone with HG658c and I find it does not stream BBC 5 Live well. The stream lags and buffers frequently. Connection is ADSL 2+ @ 12 MB so no limitation on bandwidth. I've done a number of things already but would welcome suggestions as have had no luck so far:

- Changed the wifi channel from 1 - 6 as our neighbour is also on 1.
- Added in a rule in QoS for TCP/UDP for min delay and max throughput
- Turned off QoS
- Changed Guard Interval to "Long"

As an aside I have a 4G router with an attached wifi AP and BBC 5 Live streams with no lag or buffer. It also worked fine with the Eircom D1000 I had previously using the same ADSL connection so reckon it's the Vodafone modem is the problem.
