OK time to get modern and use app to checkin now that window is reduced to 4 days to avoid fee.
I have elderly smartphone that does not need aggro of another app. Will decent tablet be fine? Can I use both devices to check in or display check in details? I worry that could find phone out of battery or lost/broken at crucial moment.

Ah Thks about WiFi... Bristol airport not hectic and only 30 minutes. So saved version on tablet will work? I used to save PDF to laptop as a back up when printing from website but was told the digital version not accepted had to be via app. No access to printer at moment. Might just go buy one to be sure.... Still prefer paper... Hate having to deal with techie stuff as well as bags, passport etc all as about to get on plane with queue behind you and steps ahead.

They'll accept the digital pdf but if they're in a bad mood they might say "you're supposed to use the app" but a quick eye roll sorts that out. :P if theres a problem can tell them the app doesn't work, which it didnt on my ancient phone at times.

Taking a screenshot of the app also works and saves connecting to wifi. :pac:

Once you check in for both flights with the App the boarding cards are saved and it will not require WIFI access to display them.

If you are using a tablet beware that the boarding card is not re sizable on screen (or at least wasn't a few weeks ago). I have used a tablet before and it was too big to fit under the scanner at security and when they scan you before boarding. They did let me through but it was a pain.

You can check in on the app then get to a printer afterwards. Or take a screenshot of the boarding cards from your tablet and send it to your phone?

    Thank you all for feedback.

    No success to report.

Stressful time ....downloaded apps to tablet then phone where it gobbled up 28 thingamies of data ..... Very low capacity phone which I love for other reasons. Also app wanted access to all sorts of data about me..... Grrrrrrr.

Several attempts all ended up with checking in and being told that I needed to print it or otherwise to use the app.... So it seemed to zoom off to main website at some point?

Elderly neighbour obliged with bit of paper when I emailed him a copy of downloaded boarding pass.

I do a a 6 day trip frequently and often book extra flights as back up that may not be availed of.

Just thought to report where I went wrong.

On opening the app, near the top is a yellow box saying 'check in' and below is a list of optional items such as car hire, extra bags etc and one that says 'ryanair rooms' but beside this one is another yellow box with 'let's go' written in it. I missed seeing the checkin box and had pressed the 'let's go' box thinking it would bring up next page. In fact this zooms you off to the main website and when you end up with a boarding pass that needs printing.

I now know how to do a screen shot with my smartphone! ( press on/off button and minus part of volume at same time and hold for 3 seconds) :)
