Removing a (bottled) gas fire place

So I have a gas fire place in the sitting room. It used to be an open fire and I want to convert it back to that. It's bottled gas so no need to go messing around with mains etc. Nor is it connected to a boiler.

So what do I need to do? Can I just remove the gas fire and throw in a grate and light a fire or is there more involved? I'll obviously get the chimney cleaned before lighting anything!
